Donna Lince, presenting at the Big Spring School District finance committee, said the district’s preliminary FY2024–25 results show about $66.68 million in total revenues and $66.22 million in expenses, producing “a surplus of $446,360.”
Lince told the board the district also moved $1.8 million of prior-year leftover funds into a capital reserve during FY2024–25. That transfer, she said, increases the adjusted year-end positive position to roughly $2.8 million. “So when you take that caveat into aspect that transfer was about 1.8 million,” she said, summarizing the effect on the bottom line. The surplus and transfers are preliminary while the audit is finalized; Lince said she expects the audit to be wrapped up within about a week.
