Commission signs off on Cedar Grove mixed‑use economic plan including TIF infrastructure

The Robertson County Commission approved resolution 072‑026‑064 on July 20 to adopt economic‑development plans for the Cedar Grove mixed‑use project, which commissioners said includes sidewalks, turning lanes, lighting and retail and health‑care components.

Budget committee chair Adam Clark presented the plan and answered questions about project benefits. Commissioners raised concerns about county delinquent‑tax lists and suggested county permitting policy consider delinquency status. Discussion of project revenues noted an anticipated portion to the schools and about $4 million to the debt‑service fund tied to the TIF arrangement, and one commissioner said the project could include an emergency room for the county.

After discussion the commission passed the resolution by voice vote (19 in favor, 2 opposed). Commissioners asked staff to coordinate permit processes and to monitor delinquent taxpayers who also seek county permits.
