TxDOT electrical work largely complete; south runway lights await special cable

City staff updated the Terrell Airport Board that the TxDOT electrical project that had temporarily closed the runway is largely finished and most lights are working, but a set of south runway lights remains offline while a special cable and final connectivity are completed. "From what you probably see, it's all done, and it's all complete. However, the South Pappies are not in operations. We're waiting on cable," an agency official told the board.

The official described the light-building electrical vault and remaining Encore power connectivity work as punch-list items and indicated the project will be dropped from the active project list once those items are finished. Board members said the runway and lights "look great" and praised the on-time completion, with one member noting the lights "made it right on date."
