Potosi board adopts $2,619,547 tax levy for 2025–26 school year

The School District of Potosi on Oct. 20 approved Resolution A to adopt the 2025–26 budget and levy a tax of $2,619,547 to operate the district during the fiscal year. The motion to approve Resolution A was moved by Ben Gavinski and seconded by Ryne Emler; the meeting record states, "to levy a tax of $2,619,547 to operate the schools for the district during the 2025-26 fiscal year."
Superintendent Kurt Cohen summarized the proposed budget and tax levy as part of the budget hearing before the vote. The board had also received a written auditor’s report (Wipfli LLP) summarized by Ryne Emler earlier in the meeting; the motion to adopt the levy passed by voice vote as recorded in the minutes. The district will use the adopted levy to fund district operations for the 2025–26 year.
