The Towanda Area School District Board of Education accepted the resignation of Region 1 Director Evelyn Sherburne during its Jan. 19 meeting. Natalie Wheaton moved to accept the resignation; Brady Finogle seconded the motion, which passed by voice vote recorded as 5‑0‑0‑4.
Earlier in his superintendent’s report, Erick Cummings recognized Sherburne for more than 18 years on the school board. The minutes do not record Sherburne’s remarks beyond noting the recognition and the formal acceptance of her resignation.
