Taylor voiced concern about independent evaluators conducting assessments when athletes are absent and emphasized fairness in any cuts. She also said tennis participation is low and recommended increasing court-style activities tied to gym class. Principal Nate Ross replied that gym classes include pickleball and other court sports and that increased participation in class activities might help engagement for some sports.
Athletic Director Jack Young noted that the district has enforced rules for the last two years but acknowledged implementation challenges if the district adopts evaluation procedures that rely on student presence. The committee took Taylor's comments under advisement and did not change any administrative directions at the meeting.
