Nathan Alberg, the district's athletic director, told trustees that fall sports are underway: football practices began Aug. 4 with scrimmages at Prairie Farm and Clear Lake, and the first scheduled football contest will be an away start followed by the first home game in early September at Frederic. "They scrimmaged at Prairie Farm on Friday," Alberg said, and he listed cross country meet dates including a Sept. 27 meet in Ashland and the district-hosted championship on Oct. 15 at Hidden Greens.
Alberg described the district's move to online registration through the Bound platform, saying it sped rostering and clearance for coaches: "I didn't have to come to school once to process forms … I could look at them all on the computer." He said an applicant, Shane Creme, applied for the assistant football position and that the district hopes to approve that hire. The board thanked Alberg for the update and moved on to other business.
