Commission approves routine motions: executive session, open appraiser data‑entry position, payables and small purchases

The commission moved into and out of an executive session to discuss a non‑elected‑personnel matter related to the appraiser’s office; the motion specified the appraiser’s office data‑entry position and included the clerk.

Following the closed session the board voted to open recruitment for a data‑entry position in the appraiser’s office, moving and seconding the motion during open session. The commission also approved payment of accounts payable (the meeting record lists the payable total at $118,798.5 after late invoices) and approved minutes of the May 11 meeting by motion and second.

On smaller procurement matters the board authorized a low‑cost electronic sign (presented by Tammy Cox) to post simple in‑building messages (cost $25.58 in the motion) and agreed to participate in a Kansas State Fair county display for a modest fee if logistics allow. Commissioners also referred a question about landfill/hauling billing for certain housing authority accounts to staff and legal counsel for follow up.
