Board adopts resolution authorizing superintendent signatory and approves several agreements

The board adopted TASD Resolution #2024/25-01 authorizing Superintendent Erick Cummings as an authorized signatory for PDE contracts and approved a Pre-College agreement with Lackawanna College, DaRTS software licensing, a Foster Grandparent MOU and a Girls Wrestling MOU.
On Aug. 19 the Towanda Area School District Board approved TASD Resolution #2024/25-01 to designate Superintendent Erick Cummings as an authorized signatory for contracts, agreements, grants and licenses with the Pennsylvania Department of Education.
The board, by motion of John Hennessy and second by Scott Hauser, also approved a Pre-College Agreement with Lackawanna College covering July 1, 2024–June 30, 2025; a DaRTS software licensing agreement with BLaST Intermediate #17 for the same term; a Memorandum of Understanding with the B/S/S/T Area Agency on Aging to provide Foster Grandparent Program services effective September 2024 through August 2027; and a Memorandum of Understanding with the Towanda Area Education Association to add a Girls Wrestling Head Coach supplemental position (2024/25 through 2028/29). The motion passed by voice vote, 7-0-0-2.
The approvals were presented as bundled agenda attachments (A, B, D, E and F). The board recorded the motions and attachments without additional amendment.
