Board Treasurer Brady Finogle recorded the abstention; the official tally on the minutes was 5 yes, 0 no, 1 abstain and 3 absent. The board noted Weaver will replace Dr. Laura Steele, who is scheduled to retire later this year on Dec. 23, 2026.
The vote was taken at the Aug. 10 work session in the Towanda Elementary Board Room. The personnel action remains pending completion of required documentation.
