Board to re-list Sky Ranch opioid remediation funding after correcting dollar error

The Woodbury County Board of Supervisors reviewed a request from Sky Ranch Behavioral Services for year-two opioid remediation funding and agreed the agenda contained a typographical error in the dollar amount. Anna Bertrand, representing Sky Ranch, told the board the program extended services begun in November 2024 through summer 2026 and sought continued county support to bridge toward sustainability.

Board members and staff clarified county fund balances and previous earmarks. Ryan Erickson said the fund had about $420,000 unallocated after approximately $100,000 was earmarked for district health, nearly $600,000 for life-pack heart monitors, and roughly $110,000 for Copperstone; the county also received about $200,000 in July. Board members noted the packet listed $121,986 but the correct requested amount was $181,986; the board agreed the motion should appear on the next consent agenda with the corrected figure and voted to approve placement (recorded vote: 5-0).

"To date, approximately 41 individuals and families have participated in peer recovery coaching," Bertrand said, summarizing program outputs and noting more than 115 people had received screening, assessment or navigation services and more than 500 community members had been reached through outreach. Supervisors praised Sky Ranch for leveraging the county's initial investment and said the county intended these funds to support local providers.

The board did not approve the corrected payment amount at this meeting; instead it approved placing the corrected request on the consent agenda at the next meeting so the public record will show the accurate dollar figure before final approval.
