The Whitehall School District board carried a series of routine but substantive motions during the meeting, approving prior minutes, adopting MTSBA-recommended policy renumbering and additions, authorizing an out-of-state Silverwood music trip for about 25 middle-school band students, and approving personnel items and claims.
A motion to adopt the policy crosswalk and MTSBA recommendations passed by voice vote. The board also voted to approve the Silverwood Music in the Parks trip (May 9), which administrators said is funded entirely by student fundraisers and uses district bus logistics. The board approved seven early high-school graduates under Montana statute and the district's memorandum of understanding with Montana Youth Challenge.
Personnel votes included hiring Will Glouse as middle-school girls basketball coach and Jay Johnson as an elementary paraprofessional, and adding a recent graduate (Alice Stani) to the substitute list. High-school and elementary claims and accounts were approved in separate motions. All listed motions passed by voice vote during the meeting.
Board members moved to adjourn at the meeting's close.
