District staff recommended joining Bridged Health Alliance, a nonprofit, self-funded health insurance trust created with state startup funding. The Superintendent described the trust as a way to pool educators to lower per-member administrative and stop‑loss costs and to return savings to members; he said the district’s premium proposal would be 6.2% less than currently paid and framed that as a net saving for employees and the district.
The board moved and seconded the recommended participation agreement and passed the motion. The Superintendent said the change would take effect in July 2026. The Superintendent also noted the union president, Ronnie Head, had reviewed materials and “said, ‘We’re happy to support this.’”
