Penns Valley board approves consent agenda including policies, calendar, audit and personnel

The Penns Valley Area School Board approved a comprehensive consent agenda at its March 17 meeting covering policy updates, the 2026–2027 school calendar, business items and a range of personnel and student-activity requests.
Items approved as part of the consent agenda included: second and final readings of Policy 123 (Interscholastic Athletics), Policy 105.2 (Exemption from Instruction), Policy 122 (Extracurricular Activities) and Policy 122.1 (Noncurricular Related, Non‑School Sponsored, Student‑Initiated Groups); approval of the 2026‑2027 school calendar; acceptance of the 2024–2025 audit report; approval of the preliminary 2026‑27 Central Intermediate Unit #10 operating budget; CPI Articles of Agreement; and routine personnel motions including employment and ratification of coaches and volunteers. The motion to approve the Consent Agenda was made by Vincent Nicosia, seconded by Scott Butler, and passed by recorded roll call vote 9–0.
The consent agenda also authorized specific student trips and coach appointments: for example, the Rambotics Club advisor was approved to take qualifying students to an overnight competition April 9–11, 2026 in California, PA; FFA advisors were approved to take students to Harrisburg, PA March 22–24, 2026; and multiple junior-high coaching appointments and volunteer approvals were ratified.
Because consent-agenda items are bundled, individual items remain on the record as having been approved; any item may be removed from future consent agendas for separate discussion.
