CDD reviews long-range gatehouse plan; backup well near completion at $291,500

Eric Long, the PSGRC general manager, distributed and reviewed a revised Long Range Plan covering gatehouses, monuments and associated projects. He said the Traffic Calming Project (radar sign and camera) was completed at a cost of $26,739 and that the backup irrigation well has an additional cost of $291,500 and is near completion.

"I expect the current pump to be installed and operating within the next couple of weeks," Long said, describing casing and pressure tests and planned water-quality testing on both the new and existing wells. He told the board that due to Mr. Krebs's actions, Florida Power & Light will replace the transformer by the Turnberry pool and add another transformer nearby at no cost to the CDD; staff will coordinate those replacements with the pending stormwater management project.

Long also reported probable costs of $250,000 to replace four neighborhood monuments and estimated gatehouse renovation costs of $615,775 (FY2026) and $407,240 (FY2027). He said the gatehouse projects will require the sealed-bid procurement process because the sealed-bid threshold is $550,000. Mr. Krebs will submit permit applications for the monuments and gatehouses to the Village of Estero, and the SFWMD stormwater permit approval is still pending.
