Board approves $7,026 one-time work order to repair lake aeration systems

Bill Kurth of Premier Lakes told the River Ridge board that the lakes and dry retention areas (DRAs) are in generally good condition but that several nano-bubbler aeration systems required attention. He presented a $25,000 manufacturer proposal from Mollier to replace nano-bubble units on Lakes H1‑A, H1‑B and E7‑A, and an alternative one-time work order from Premier to replace nonstandard 8-horsepower pumps, aeration compressors and check valves so the systems can be evaluated.

Kurth said the Premier Lakes one-time work order would ‘‘get the aeration compressors and the pool pumps operational in order to evaluate the system; it does not guarantee additional repairs will not be necessary.’’ The board voted unanimously to approve Premier Lakes, Inc.’s One-Time Work Order Agreement, as amended, to repair the nano bubble machines on Lakes H1‑A, H1‑B and E7‑A in the amount of $7,026.

Board members discussed warranty length on pumps and compressors and noted Lake H1‑B as a priority for repairs. The approved action is an interim measure to restore operation and allow staff to assess longer-term replacement needs, rather than a full replacement of the manufacturer’s units.
