Union Area board approves tenure, hires, resignations and stipend payments

At its Sept. 17 meeting the board approved multiple personnel actions: it granted tenure to Haleigh Hughes after confirmation she met Pennsylvania Department of Education requirements; accepted resignations from paraprofessional Annie Hines (effective Sept. 8, 2025) and MS/HS custodian Brandon Mullins (effective Sept. 15, 2025); and extended Mr. Greg Kwolek's retirement effective date from Sept. 30, 2025 to Jan. 31, 2026.
The board also approved a set of volunteer baseball coaches (pending receipt of required paperwork), a $450 stipend for band camp instructor Antonio Faraone for the 2025–26 school year, and prep-period payments for Michelle Oakes at 100% of her prep time for 2025–26. Each motion was moved and seconded and carried by the six members present.
