The Union Area Board of School Directors approved a slate of operational and financial motions at its Oct. 15 meeting, carrying each item by a recorded 7–0 vote.
Among the approved items were the Purchase Order List for Sept. 15–Oct. 10, 2025 ($393,829.55), a checklist covering Sept. 18–Oct. 15, 2025 ($793,452.48), and a Cafeteria invoice dated Oct. 9, 2025 ($60,477.92). The board also approved payment to Guys Mechanical, Application No. 2, for $132,772.50; the motion was moved by Richard Mangino and seconded by Chas Macri.
Other approved fiscal items included an $11,540.50 refund of prior-year taxes to Lowes Home Center and the approval of exonerations as presented. The board approved personnel-related motions including the hire of Ms. Mariah McKinnis as a paraprofessional (effective Oct. 15, 2025), acceptance of resignations of Marquis Jackson (custodian, effective Oct. 1) and Danielle Pruitt (elementary teacher, effective Oct. 31), and multiple athletic coaching appointments with stipends.
