Union Area board approves personnel actions including FMLA leave and summer school hires

The Union Area Board approved several personnel items at its March 18 meeting, including an updated Accountant Payable job description and intermittent FMLA leave for Mrs. Kelly Cypher, expected to start around March 31, 2026.
The board also approved four staff members for summer school assignments — Michelle Oakes, Nicole DeJohn, Laura Kerr and Carla Brown — to be paid under the collective bargaining agreements. Jay Cole moved the personnel block and the motion carried. Additionally, the board approved Kaden Crown as a substitute bus monitor effective March 18, 2026, pending receipt of required paperwork.
