Seaside School District presented an emergency-preparedness update detailing three ConX containers positioned on higher ground with integrated power, generators, food and communications capability.
Jason described the units as a partnership with the city and a private contractor and said utility work completed by Pacific Power and Inland Electric enabled immediate installation of power. "I mean, it's it's really like apocalyptic, ready to go," Jason said, describing climate control, generators, MREs, porta-potties, handwashing stations and planned Starlink communications for use if local infrastructure fails.
Staff said a contractor (RMD) will be on site to finish hooking up security and communications systems and that supplies will be cataloged with expiration dates and a rotation plan; surplus supplies nearing expiry would be routed to the local food bank rather than wasted.
