Board approves facility requests, baseball cooperative and MOU with county CAP

The board approved a facility request by the Union High School Class of 1966 for Sept. 5, 2026 (rain-date use only), a cooperative summer varsity baseball arrangement with Shenango and Neshannock (May 21–July 24, 2026), and an MOU with Lawrence County Community Action Partnership.
The board approved several non-financial operational items at the May 20 meeting. Members approved a facility request from the Union High School Class of 1966 to use the high school cafeteria on Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026 from noon to 6 p.m.; Dr. Michael Hink clarified the request was for inclement weather only.
The Board also approved a cooperative arrangement to field a combined varsity baseball team with Shenango and Neshannock for summer games and practices on the varsity baseball field from May 21 through July 24, 2026. Separately, the board approved a memorandum of understanding with the Lawrence County Community Action Partnership as presented; all motions carried 9–0.
