Administrators used the April 15 meeting to highlight student learning outside state test metrics, including career-and-technical-education projects and expanding college-credit opportunities.
Jeff Roberts and other staff described the school’s construction program shift from a wood-shop to a construction curriculum; students placed the first of several sheds built in partnership with a Broadway field remodel. Roberts named student Clarissa Rubio as the foreperson on that project and emphasized how CTE exposes students to non‑traditional career opportunities.
School staff also reported strong results in marketing and entrepreneurship (several state championships and top finishes) and said a growing partnership with Classic Community College will increase opportunities for students to earn college credits (courses cited included college algebra, Spanish, anatomy and physiology). Administrators pointed to Measure 98 funding and the ninth-grade success team as key supports for keeping students engaged and on track toward graduation.
