District leaders told the board that the summer food service program will run June 23–August 22 from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.; meals for those under 18 are free and adult lunches are $5. The sites include the Sunset Empire Parks location and are chosen for accessibility and bus-line access.
Administrators also summarized an 18‑month effort to redesign staff evaluations to better align with the Marzano instructional framework. The pilot produced a preferred evaluation tool the district plans to roll out to certified staff with language that mirrors instructional priorities. Board members praised the work and thanked participating teachers and administrators.
Members also previewed upcoming events, including a visit/open house by a congressional office at the high school gymnasium and the district's ongoing summer capital projects, such as classroom enclosure and facility upgrades.
