Board accepts clean audit for FY22–24; no material weaknesses found

Seaside School District 10’s audit team presented an unqualified (clean) opinion for fiscal year 2022–24, and the school board voted to accept the report at its April 15 meeting.
"My name is Brian Thompson. I'm the audit team lead ... I'm happy to announce that we have an unqualified opinion," said Brian Thompson, the audit team lead, summarizing the auditors’ results and the single-audit testing for federal awards. He told the board auditors found no material weaknesses or significant deficiencies that would require a management letter.
Thompson reviewed routine best-practice notes that do not affect the opinion: the district holds cash balances above fidelity-insurance thresholds and should continue attention to 403(b) administrative-compliance procedures. The audit will be finalized and submitted to the Secretary of State and federal reporting systems once final internal reviews are completed.
Board members moved and seconded a motion to approve the audit report as presented; the motion passed on a voice vote. The board will approve any minor finishing edits after auditors complete their final review and submit the documents to state and federal authorities.
The presentation and vote were handled without recorded roll-call tallies; the board used a standard voice vote to accept the audit.
