Trustees voted to accept an updated strategic plan for Seaside School District 10 and to extend the current plan through 2028. The presenter described the revision as a consolidation of the district’s integrated guidance work and existing strategic goals, with an added equity framework and specific accountability measures.
"I am recommending that this be extended for 3 years till 2028," the presenter said during the discussion. Board members pressed for clearer quarterly metrics and subgoals that demonstrate progress toward graduation targets and third-grade reading benchmarks. The administration said it will present longitudinal growth targets and regular data reports (including state-required assessments and local screeners such as STAR) and will provide periodic updates on progress toward the 2028 goals.
A motion to accept the strategic plan update was made and seconded; the board approved the update by voice vote. Trustees asked staff to bring back quarterly strategic-progress reports showing measurable indicators and resource implications for moving goals forward.
