Shannon Swedenborg elected chair as Seaside SD 10 board members sworn in
Summary
At the July 15 meeting, Seaside School District 10 swore in new and returning trustees and elected Shannon Swedenborg as board chair and Catherine (Cat) Davidson as vice chair for 2025–26. Officers took their oaths and the chair assumed duties immediately.
Seaside School District 10’s board swore in new and returning members and elected officers for the 2025–26 year at its July 15 regular meeting.
During nominations for board chair, a board member said, "I would like to nominate Shannon Swedenborg for the board chair position." After a roll-call style vote, Shannon Swedenborg was announced as the new board chair and immediately took the chair position. Catherine (Cat) Davidson was elected vice chair in a subsequent vote.
Board members completed the oath of office together: "I swear that support the Constitution of the United States, the Constitution of the State of Oregon, the laws thereof, and the quality of the school district," and were asked to sign their qualification forms to make their terms official. The board moved on to regular business following the officer elections.
