Oelrichs board schedules Aug. 6 walk-through for high school construction; welding shop to receive Perkins equipment

Superintendent Dr. Mitchell Stone told the Oelrichs School District board on July 21 that the high school construction team has scheduled a walk-through inspection for August 6, 2026.
"the walk-through inspection is scheduled for August 6," Stone informed the board, and he recommended having Kyle attend the inspection. Stone said electrical work remains to finish additional welding booths. He also said Perkins awarded equipment for the 2026–2027 school term to support growth in the welding program and that he is researching marquee options and local suppliers for quotes.
Board members discussed the superintendent housing remodel and paving bids in separate agenda items; no vote was recorded on the housing discussion at this meeting. The board recorded a paving bid opening for August 11 in Rapid City and directed staff to bring bid results back when available.
