The board moved to adopt K–12 health instructional materials for the upcoming year, naming publishers and grade bands presented by staff (K–5: Children's Health Market; grades 6–8: Comprehensive Health Skills for Middle School/Hart Wilcox; grades 9–12: Human Kinetics/Live Well comprehensive high school health). A director asked who would teach the middle and high school courses and staff identified Sam Sanders (middle school), Travis Racer (juniors) and Blaine (freshmen) in the staffing plan.
The motion to adopt the K–12 health instructional materials was moved and seconded and the board approved the motion, though one director recorded an opposed vote during the voice/roll-call exchange. Staff said the materials were chosen to align with district goals and that the curricula will be taught by existing staff with appropriate endorsements.
No specific curricular amendments were adopted at the meeting; staff said quarters/semesters and rotations would determine which grades receive which modules and that schedules will be finalized by the instructional team.
