The Minersville Area Board of Education approved an Extended School Year (ESY) program for summer 2024 to run June 18 through July 25 on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays at Minersville Area Junior–Senior High School. Teachers, therapists and LPNs will provide instruction from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with students attending 8:30 AM to 11:30 AM.
The board approved staff assignments and hourly wages in the motion on recommendation by Special Education Director Jill Atkinson: teachers/therapists $30/hour; instructional aides $14.73/hour; LPN $21.63/hour. Named staff in the minutes include Rochelle Jones, Kelsey Schleicher, Megan Siminitus, Maria Spotts, Ashley Thompson, Emily Williams (teachers); speech therapists Johnna Spotts and Sarah Quinn (one day/week each); Registered Nurse Kelly Valentine; instructional aides and LPNs listed in the minutes.
