Students win at district science fair; board recognizes Students of the Month and archival donation

The board recognized Ella Tarlecky and Luke Stevenosky as Students of the Month for May 2024; Principal Michael Maley read biographies of both students, who were unable to attend the meeting.
Members of the SEAL team were introduced; Austin Hydock summarized their activity involving a drone and QR code challenge. The board acknowledged Science Fair winners from the May 6 event supervised by Mrs. Kelly Boyer. Winners included, among others, Physical Science I 1st Place Karlie Carr (project: "What water bottle can keep ice from melting?") and Biology 1st Place Grace Zulick (project: "Do people retain information better when hearing it or seeing it?"). The meeting recessed briefly to allow board members to interact with the students.
The board accepted a donation of yearbooks and nostalgic artifacts from Kathryn Wessbecher (1937–1947 volumes) for the district archives and recorded a $200 donation from Friends at Llewellyn in memory of Norman R. Spotts, Sr. to buy library books.
