Board approves several instructional aide hires, denies one candidate and accepts tax-collector resignation

The Minersville Area Board of Education on Feb. 25 approved several part-time instructional aide hires: Allyson Young (effective Feb. 9, 2026) at $15.63 per hour; Charles Brenner (effective Mar. 2, 2026) at $15.63 per hour; and Cierra Alexander (effective Mar. 16, 2026) at $15.63 per hour. Each hire was approved by roll call where noted.
The board voted against hiring Katelyn Harte by roll call; the minutes record that all members voted no on that hire and the candidate was dismissed from service following the board motion.
The board also accepted the resignation of Lisa Michelcavage as Foster Township Tax Collector effective Feb. 28, 2026; the acceptance passed on a voice vote.
