The Minersville Area Board of Education on May 22 accepted resignations and ratified a set of new hires and personnel changes for the upcoming school year.
Resignations accepted included Harry Pytak (professional employee, non‑tenured, effective 05/06/2024), Lauren Tobin (Special Education Secretary, effective 05/28/2024) and Clifford Woodford (professional employee, tenured; retirement effective 05/31/2024 after 35 years of service). The board ratified new hires including Jordanna Hess (part‑time CNA at Llewellyn Early Childhood Center, $16.73/hr., effective 05/20/2024) and several part‑time custodial hires with effective dates in May 2024.
The board approved administrative, secretarial, technical/service and hourly staff salaries for 2024–25 as presented; the motion carried with member Newton recorded as abstaining. The board also approved the transfer of Rochelle Jones to a 200‑day Special Education Supervisor position for 2024/25 at a salary of $60,000 with a $2,000 one‑time increase upon certification (Lubinsky abstained on that vote).
