The board accepted with regret the retirement notice of Nannette Bentz, elementary principal, effective Aug. 31, 2026; the minutes record she served 34 years with the district. The retirement was approved by motion of Sarah R. Newton, seconded by O'Brien, and the motion carried unanimously.
The minutes also record the board's acknowledgment of paid administrative leave for employee #1733 (beginning March 18, 2026) and employee #1763 (beginning March 20, 2026) pending investigations; both acknowledgments passed on roll-call votes. The Business Office was authorized to pay employee #1865 for paraprofessional time worked Feb. 16–20 and Feb. 24–25, 2026 at $15.63 per hour, notwithstanding that the Board had not previously approved the hire. The board approved hire of Gabriella Brode as a part-time instructional aide at $15.63/hour effective March 30, 2026.
Separately, the board authorized a one-time payment of $2,000 to Robert Schumacher for property damages, sewage backup and related losses arising from disconnected and re-routed sewer lines. Solicitor Nicholas Quinn explained the payment was a negotiated full settlement that releases the district from further liability. The minutes do not include the investigative details or the terms of the administrative-leave inquiries.
