Eric Shanks, president and executive producer at Fox Sports, reiterated Fox's role in the partnership and said Fox would provide scholarship funding to both universities. "Fox Sports presents a landmark event this weekend with the Freedom 250 Indie Car Grand Prix right here in Washington DC, racing through the nation's capital to celebrate our 250th birthday," he said, tying the funding and publicity plan to the race weekend.
