Montour board authorizes solicitor to pursue litigation over alleged insulin overpricing

Montour School District’s solicitor, Annemarie Harr, asked the board to authorize hiring outside counsel to pursue litigation concerning the district’s purchase of insulin. The board approved contracts with Frantz Law Group and Dillon McCandless King Coulter & Graham LLP to "commence legal action against Eli Lilly, Novo Nordisk and all other responsible parties with respect to claims to the overpricing of insulin purchased by the District in its healthcare plans," and the motion carried on roll call.
Harr also added, and the board approved, an agreement with West Allegheny School District for a majorette co-op pending final solicitor review. The litigation authorization directs the solicitor to finalize engagement agreements with the named firms and to proceed consistent with board direction.
