The Montour School District board approved several education‑program purchases and contracts on July 17 as part of the Education agenda.
Director of Instruction Dominic Salpeck presented a Ready AI agreement to provide training, career education and curriculum development at a cost of $29,000 to be paid from the RKM Foundation grant. The board also approved the purchase of the Magma Math program for intervention services at $16,000 to be paid with federal access funds. Separately, the board approved a six‑year purchase of National Geographic and Cengage Learning curricular materials for the district’s English‑as‑a‑Second‑Language program for $22,763 to be paid with federal funding.
Director of Pupil Services Dr. Robert Isherwood also presented recommended changes to the district’s gifted‑student identification process and a one‑year counseling contract renewal with Crisis Center North at a total cost of $4,500. All items in the Education block were approved by roll call.
