Board approves spring events, band trip and homebound instruction

Education administrators presented multiple curriculum and extracurricular items the board approved Jan. 16: a homebound instructor assignment for a David E. Williams (DEW) student (five hours per week for up to six weeks); the 5th Annual Movin' It for Michael event scheduled for May 10; and approval of the Spartan Marching Band's trip to Universal Studios in Orlando for Jan. 8–12, 2026.
The board also approved a $1,000 contribution from GBU Life for 8th grader Roman Yankello after his win in a singing competition, and approved the Winter Formal scheduled for Feb. 13. The education items were approved by motion and unanimous roll call.
