The Montour School District Board of School Directors on June 19 adopted a $83,459,454 general fund budget for the 2025‑26 school year and set the tax levy at 17.9638 mills. The action was taken by roll call following presentation of the Treasurer’s report and the district’s cash and capital project summaries.
Director of Finance Anna Borsos presented the budget as part of the Treasurer’s report, noting year‑to‑date general fund revenues of $74,976,560.23 and expenditures of $70,794,722.10 through May 2025. The board adopted resolution 06‑01‑25 (PDE‑2028) to finalize the budget. The board also adopted resolution 6‑02‑25 to implement the Act 1 Homestead/Farmstead Exclusion for 2025‑26 and resolution 6‑03‑25 authorizing collection and payment of school real property taxes in installments.
Board members moved and seconded the motions and the roll call recorded all present voting "YES." The Treasurer’s presentation also included detailed account balances and a listing of completed capital projects with a grand total of $14,823,244.58.
The budget adoption establishes the district’s fiscal plan for the coming year; implementation steps and tax‑collection logistics were adopted by resolution and will be administered by the district finance office.
