The Britton-Hecla School District 45-4 Board of Education convened a special meeting Aug. 18, 2026, and moved into executive session for personnel matters at 3:01 p.m. on a motion by board member Hawkinson, seconded by Vietor. The board cited SDCL 1-25-2(1) as the authority for the closed session; President Troy Knecht declared the executive session over at 3:12 p.m.
Following the executive session, the board returned to open session and took formal personnel actions, including accepting the resignation of Shannon Wegleitner as Business Manager and approving the hire of Kyla Kriese as Business Manager and the hire of Wegleitner as Business Office Assistant. All motions recorded in the meeting were approved unanimously. The board adjourned the special meeting at 3:21 p.m.
