The Britton-Hecla School District 45-4 Board of Education accepted the resignation of Shannon Wegleitner as Business Manager and hired Kyla Kriese as the district’s new Business Manager at an annual salary of $57,500. The actions took place at a special board meeting on Aug. 18, 2026, called to order at 3:00 p.m. by President Troy Knecht.
Board member Zuehlke moved to hire Kyla Kriese as Business Manager; Grupe seconded the motion and "all voted aye," carrying the motion. On the same set of personnel motions, the board also voted to hire Shannon Wegleitner as Business Office Assistant at a rate of $19.25 per hour (motion by Hawkinson, second by Zuehlke); that motion also passed unanimously. The board’s personnel actions followed an executive session convened under SDCL 1-25-2(1) for personnel matters. The meeting record shows no dissenting votes on the personnel decisions.
