Provo engineering reports trail work, bridge ribbon cutting and multiple CDBG sidewalk projects

Engineering staff gave a run‑through of current capital projects and near‑term events: the State Street trail (300 S to 9 S) experienced a short pause while a storm drain redesign awaits UDOT approval; the 600 South trail (100 E to 100 W) is under construction with railroad coordination; and the 820 North Bridge ribbon cutting is scheduled for Saturday with bike decorating at 11:00 a.m., mayoral remarks at 11:30 a.m. and a ribbon cutting at 11:45 a.m.

Staff also updated the committee on the University Avenue bridge replacement (recent beam lifts and schedule progress) and several sidewalk and ADA projects funded through CDBG and capital budgets. Notable figures shared in the updates included roughly $110,000 spent in the Franklin neighborhood (32 new ADA ramps and intersection improvements), approximately $150,000 for the Dixon neighborhood application, and about $250,000 allocated to a developer‑dependent foothills project tied to Wasatch Elementary area improvements. Staff said the 820 North Bridge project finished under budget despite schedule slips and invited committee members to the ribbon cutting.
