Wrightstown parks board narrows rules for Community Day, plans logistics changes

The Wrightstown Township Parks and Recreation Board reviewed its Community Day and yard sale at the May 18 meeting and agreed to several operational changes to streamline next year’s event. The board voted to move the event’s end time to 12 p.m. to coincide with the farmers market, keep setup beginning at 8 a.m. with a prohibition on cars inside the building during setup, and require vendors to offer non-bulk resale items only. The minutes note that a Goodwill truck was “a positive again this year” and that the Food Cupboard collection worked well.

The board also agreed to restrict political candidates from setting up tables unless they are selling items, to place community tables at the front of the venue with vendors in the back, and to aim for a larger exterior banner. The minutes record an action for staff to obtain the signup list from the township for next year’s on‑site use and to give Mitch from the Wrightstown Food Cupboard earlier notice so he can arrange staffing.
