Engineers, contractor explain date errors and schedule bump for 2700 lift station

Ryker of Gardner Engineering told the board he "prepared the amendment" and identified an error: the amendment listed April 7 and April 21 for substantial and final completion, but change order three shows actual dates of June 5 (substantial) and June 19 (final). "That would make the substantial completion days 89 days, not 148, and then the final payment days 110 not 148," Ryker said, noting the arithmetic changes to the draft change order.

Brett of Corio Construction explained the contractor had to add electrical work and exterior air‑gap boxes to prevent gases from entering the compressor and generator rooms from the wet well, which "bumped back" the schedule. Brett said the project has a substantial completion date of Sept. 2 and a final completion around Oct. 4, and that electrical and gas will be disconnected from the old building this week with demolition starting on the 31st.

The board asked clarifying questions about pumps and bypass operations; contractor remarks indicated the bypass system was in place and the sewer system would be ready within days, though decision to switch operations off the bypass may wait until Monday or later in the week.
