The board opened its June 3 meeting with student recognitions spanning athletics, academic competition and the arts.
Coach Tom Brader recounted the boys 4x100 relay's path to the state meet and said the relay "is the first-ever boys relay state championship at Palisades," naming Silas Day, Ashton Fitzgerald, Grayson George and Lincoln Cook. The coach praised the group's preparation through difficult weather and scheduling challenges that included field-event conflicts.
Teacher Lori Kesselman introduced middle-school National History Day performers who advanced from regionals to state, and students Julian and Olivia shared brief remarks about their projects on Knud Pedersen and Deborah Sampson. Rose Lipton and Lauren Sunday described a student art gallery and a funded project that turned student poems into sculpted chess pieces, crediting PCF and partner programs for support.
Directors congratulated the students and noted the gallery and award recognition as highlights of the school year.
