The board approved several safety and emergency-preparedness measures at its June 17 meeting. Directors authorized Minute Man Security and Life Safety to upgrade the Palos Heights Senior High intrusion system at a cost of $29,943, and they approved a three-year agreement with Cardinal Point to provide security officer services for the district.
The board also approved an emergency bus mobilization agreement with Kraft Bus Company and a memorandum of understanding with Springfield Township to establish Springfield Elementary School as a backup location for the district emergency operations center. Director Ramos introduced and moved multiple motions related to these operations and the motions carried by voice vote (typical tally 7–0). Board members said the agreements align with the district's emergency operations plan and broader safety strategy.
