The Palisades School District Board of Directors voted 7–0 on June 17 to reappoint Dr. Bridget O'Connell as district superintendent effective July 1, 2026, for a five-year term, subject to the terms of an agreement to be executed by Dr. O'Connell and the board.
During the meeting Chair (speaking as board chair) called for the motion and the board swiftly seconded and approved it in voice vote. Board members said the decision reflects the district's desire for steady leadership as it faces declining enrollment and a challenging budget. One board member told colleagues the district would lean on the superintendent's experience to guide the district through those headwinds.
Dr. O'Connell thanked the board and community, saying she looks forward to continuing to work with students, families, teachers and staff. The board's action formalizes the district's executive leadership through mid-decade and positions administrators to continue planned initiatives, including curriculum updates and facilities work.
