During review of financial reports, directors pressed for detail on several items that appeared unusual in the packet, including a $3,000 grant tied to STEM/Chief Science Officer support and line items showing high percent-spent figures in some accounts.
Staff explained that certain grant dollars flow through the student-activity fund and will be dispersed to coaches; they committed to confirming whether the $3,000 will be split between coaches and whether the funds are above and beyond existing employee stipends (EDRs). Directors also asked for a report detailing which game workers and fitness-center staff are paid via EDRs and how fitness-center costs and revenues balance, asking staff to return with a reconciliation and any suggested changes to quarterly reporting to improve transparency.
Committee members asked that capital-project spending status and fund-balance projections also be shared with buildings-and-grounds so the board can see allocated amounts alongside actual expenditures. Staff agreed to follow up with the requested line-item detail and projections within the committee's timeline.
