Staff presented renewal agreements for placement/transport vendors used to serve students with specialized needs. Current usage is small: one student at Woods Services and one at Lakeside, with no current placements at Lifeworks. The committee agreed to group the three school contracts on the consent agenda for the full board.
Separately, staff recommended adding Everdriven as a contractual backup for transportation and staffing in cases the district cannot staff positions internally or when the primary contractor is unable to fulfill certain runs. Staff said neighboring districts use Everdriven as a comparable fallback; committee members asked staff to monitor usage because Everdriven’s runs are somewhat more expensive than the primary vendor, Craft.
Colleen said the district will continue to try to fill positions internally and will draw on Brent Denovi (vendor) when necessary. The committee asked staff to notify the board if backup usage grows and meaningfully increases transportation costs.
