New activities director Steve Walsh previews fall sports and school events

Steve Walsh, the district’s new activities director, introduced himself at the Aug. 17 board meeting and told the board he is excited to be in the role: “Steve Walsh, I'm the new activities director here.” Walsh reported robust participation in football, cross country and volleyball, said a recent scrimmage produced no injuries and noted a full schedule of upcoming events including a Hall of Fame game and a student council tailgate next Friday featuring food trucks and carnival games that will raise funds for student council.
Walsh encouraged board members and the community to attend and mentioned plans for volunteer engagement and student activities (including a dunk tank for fundraisers). Board members and staff welcomed Walsh and thanked him for work to start the athletics season smoothly.
