Board authorizes $428,986 purchase of advanced 911 location and notification system

District safety staff recommended purchasing an advanced emergency notification system to improve 911 call location data delivered to dispatchers and to integrate those alerts into the district Security Operations Center (SOC).

Scott Monroe told the Board the recommended package would map roughly 3,360 district telephones to precise locations, deliver floor plans and caller location information to dispatchers, support geofencing so the district receives notifications when cellular 911 calls occur near campuses, and allow future integration with the district's video security system. Following a competitive procurement, administration recommended contracts with Zinfinity for software licensing and Computer Solutions for engineering and integration. "The total recommended purchasing authority is $428,986.12," Monroe said.

Trustees approved the purchase on a motion by Russ Garner, seconded by Amanda Jones; the motion carried 6–0 with one absence. Monroe said most implementation costs are upfront and licensing costs decline after the first year; he estimated the system could be implemented in roughly six months and that pricing is guaranteed for three years under the contract.

The Board directed staff to proceed with implementation, funded from Bond 2023 resources, and to return costed integration plans for future video and SOC enhancements.
